At Les Passeroses, France 23rd - 30th June 2012.
Building a home practice with Shrewsbury yoga teacher Jackie Jones.
Have you ever wanted to practice yoga at home but not known where to start? Then this Yoga Holiday is for you!
Working with the principles of the koshas through ayurveda, yoga, pranayama and guided visualisation you will learn how to adapt your yoga practice to suit your own unique lifestyle and constitution. There will also be a look at more subtle physical and emotional cues, to bring balance back into your life on a daily basis.
Last year was Jackie's first Yoga Holiday at Passeroses. She says: "We loved it so much we're returning for a second year. Set in the heart of Charente in South-West France, this peaceful and tranquil location is surrounded by rolling countryside, filled with maize and sunflowers."
"Jackie is such a truly intuitive teacher, who read us as a group and as individuals"
Within this idyllic setting there will be two or more yoga sessions each day. Drawing from a wealth of experience from 15 years in private practice as a yoga therapist, Jackie will guide you to work at your own level, while sensitively following your body's natural cues. The morning class will begin around 8am, moving from the silence of meditation into guided breathwork, gentle stretches and finally dynamic flowing sequences, the practice will set you up for the day feeling fully awake, refreshed and glowing with energy!
After brunch there will be free time to either relax around the pool, read, sleep or borrow a bike to explore the local countryside. One day we will take a picnic by the lake, on another, a trip to see the architecture, cafes and riverside beach of Aubterre.
"A loving, safe place to practice in."
The yoga space will either be outdoors or in the beautiful barn renovation with oak floors and a dramatically tented ceiling, where light pours in from three large windows,
Jan the superb local therapist can also be booked for reflexology, aromatherapy, and hot stone massage.
The late afternoon session will break free of the boundaries of a regular yoga class. Exploring, through different mediums, how we can bring ourselves back to centre to reflect on what is truly meaningful in our lives. This is the time to stretch, relax and realign with our deepest priorities...
"Very relaxing and enjoyable, with plenty of space, yoga and great food too!"
Our hosts are renowned for their wonderful food, preparing dishes that are simple, healthy and delicious. Sourced from local farms, vegetarian and organic where possible, you will be able to give your body a nourishing treat to continue the detoxing initiated by your yoga practice. After supper you can just take time to chill either in the Moroccan inspired lounge room, or stroll around in the gardens. On some evenings there will be the opportunity to enjoy candlelit meditation, music or chanting. You are welcome to join in as much or as little as you like!
"A wonderful week, full of laughter and reflection... and let's not forget the idyllic setting!"
"A beautiful yoga holiday..."
