JAN 2019: Lis has cancelled all her classes for the time being for family reasons.
I have been a student of Yoga for twenty five years and a teacher for the past 17. I am also a Physiotherapist with special interest in managing pain and musculoskeletal disorders. I came to Yoga as a way of managing my own aches and pains and stress levels and found it to be so effective and rejuvenating personally that I was inspired to study and train to bring these same benefits to others.
My qualification is with The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY). The BWY is the Governing Body of Yoga in the UK as recognised by Sport England (1998-1999 BWY Dip.Part 1 – tutor Fay Beddowes; 2000 – 2003 BWY Dip. – tutor Richard Adamo)
Since Qualification with the British Wheel of Yoga ( 500 hours of study and practice ) I have studied with many leading Yoga teachers including Tara Fraser ,Paul Fox, Donna Farhi , Fiona Ashdown , Granville Cousins Richard Adamo , Zoë Knott, Tanya Fitzpatrick and many others. I have also completed an eight week mindfulness course.
Currently I teach two evening classes and one daytime class a week for adults in Castlefields, Shrewsbury.
My philosophy is that Yoga has something for everybody. Whatever age , level of fitness or ability Yoga has something special to bring to enrich life. My classes are based on classic Yoga postures taught in a way that focuses awareness on the breath and the body making each posture like a moving meditation.
My own interest and love of the practice of yoga continues to inspire and inform my life. Yoga has helped me through breast cancer and all the associated treatments and traumas, helping me to keep body, mind and spirit strong.
Please contact me if you are interested in coming along to my evening classes.
My daytime class is run on a Monday by ‘Through the doorway to healthy living’. Contact Anne Seymour at firstname.lastname@example.org to check availability.
